Waxing 101

Waxing is offered for men and women. It is a safe and an effective method of removing unwanted facial and body hair. The wax will remove hair from the root leaving the areas soft and smooth, unlike shaving. Depending on the area and new growth, maintenance will vary, typically between four to six weeks.

Soft and hard wax are used. The differences between the two wax is soft will be applied to areas with fine hair, then removed using a strip. Soft wax can be used on areas such as the legs, face, chest, etc.. Hard adheres more to hair rather than to skin, which is recommended for sensitive areas such as the bikini.

Common courtesy of hygiene is preferable before you come in due to sanitation. Gloves are used and double-dipping is not allowed.

Aftercare

Do not be alarmed if skin is quite tender, red, and/or inflamed. This is normal. After 24-48 hours everything should clear. Aloe Vera is suggested for further irritation.

Please keep areas clean and bacteria free. Including no hot showers, tanning beds, avoid tight clothing (ex: leggings), deodorant, moisturizer/topical cream, working out, etc..

After 24-48 hrs, be sure to exfoliate. Exfoliating will help prevent small bumps and ingrown.

FAQs

Does it hurt?

Truth is, it is uncomfortable. Unwanted hair is removed from the follicles, it's a minor discomfort during the initial service. Afterwards, you will experience tenderness and redness. In order to help reduce irritation and discomfort, pain reliever can be taken about 10 minutes prior - up to your own discretion.

What is the differences between bikini, deep bikini, and brazilian?

Bikini: Around/outside the panty line.

Deep Bikini: AKA Extended bikini, great in-between if you're wanting more than a bikini but not a full brazilian.

Brazilian: Everything bare front to back. Can be modified to a landing strip etc..

How long will the results last?

Everyone is different, maintenance is recommended four to six weeks. If you decide to continue waxing, I advise clients not shaving in between services.

How long does my hair have to be?

Hair length needs to be at least 1/4" of growth (grain of rice), that is equivalent to two weeks without shaving. Remember, longer the better/cleaner.

Can I wax my brazilian if I am on my period?

Yes, you will be more sensitive. Fresh tampons are great, however, I highly recommend rescheduling.

Can I wax if I am pregnant?

Please clear this with your doctor. With this being said, I have waxed clients who are pregnant throughout their pregnancy. Most woman are more sensitive and uncomfortable lying straight on their back.

Do men wax?

Yes, waxing has become a part of their grooming lifestyle. Please see the list of services available if interested.

Why can't I wax?

If you are currently using any Retinol products such as Rentin-A, Renova, Accutane, etc.. I highly advise against any facial waxing due to lifting of the skin.

Do you trim?

No trimming due to extreme flyaway.

When should I wax for my vacation, special day, and/or wedding?

Recommendation is 2 days in advance.

Can I bring my kids?

I love children. However, this is a work place with very little space with hot equipment.

Why do I need to fill out a client release form?

New clients are required to sign a release form to ensure everyone's history and safety. Information will be confidential and for my use only.
